Olympus Corporation’s Scientific Solutions Business (SSBU) Launches DP74 Microscope Digital Camera Globally

Olympus Corporation’s Scientific Solutions Business (SSBU) launched DP74 microscope digital camera in November 2016 across the world. The microscope digital camera provides superior imaging for improved workflow and can be configured with biological & industrial microscopes to capture and record images to view on the monitor. DP74 is a successor to the DP73, which was launched in November 2011, gained higher traction amid digital microscope operators globally. DP74 is capable of visualizing high-speed live images at 60fps (frames per second) with simple and faster operations. Its state of the art functions such as Position Navigator keeps track of the observation location. The DP74 color camera for fluorescence produces detailed, accurate images, and analyzes the live image of even dim and challenging samples. Additionally, the camera follows the user’s stage movements in order to create real-time, panoramic image with mapped zoom-outs for documenting the sample. Scientific Solutions Business (SSBU) holds product portfolio such as optical microscopes, industrial videoscopes and non-destructive testing equipment that finds applications in the medical or life science and industrial fields.

Worldwide increasing high-end science- and research activities along with growing demand from research & academic institutes, pharmaceutical & biotechnology companies, and hospitals & clinics are fostering growth of the global microscope digital cameras market. Digital microscopes are superior to other microscopes like compound light microscope, stereomicroscope, pocket microscope, electron microscope (EM), scanning probe microscope (SPM), USB computer microscope, and acoustic microscope, as they have an ability to record moving images that can be emailed or easily watched for longer duration.
